He is a foreigner who spent almost his entire life in China, he is a witness to the great changes in China in the 20th century. His name is Israel Epstein.
Israel was born in Poland and moved to China with his parents when he was two years old. Since then, he had forged an indissoluble bond with China. After becoming a journalist at the age of 15, he had committed himself to reporting what saw and heard in China to the world. He wrote many news reports and monographs reflecting the Chinese revolution, construction, and reform, and deepened the understanding and friendship between China and the rest of the world.
With sincere feelings for China and the Chinese people, Israel became a Chinese citizen in 1957. In 1964, he joined the Communist Party of China.
